Hooke's Law

An elastic string of modulus 20N has one end fixed. When a particle of mass 1kg is hanging in equilibrium from the free end of the string, the length of the string is 1.4m.

Determine the natural length of the string.

They don't give you the extension so how do you work this out? Any help would be appreciated, and also if anyone knows how to resolve vertically could they help me understand how.

The extension = (1.4 - l), where l is the natural length
