Iron reaction

This Came up in my exam and I thought this was the answer but im having second doubts..

2Fe2O3 + 3C = 2Fe2 + 3CO2

or Is the 2Fe2 meant to be 4Fe and why?

the answer is 2Fe2O3 + 3C = 4Fe + 3CO2. Th e reason for the 4FE is because iron isn't diatomic and won't covalently bond with itself, like non-metals. Secondly Fe2 doesn't exist one its own. I think you'll lose one mark for it tho so don't worry
