NO,the European parliament doesn't ahve any power. It's there just to confirm what the technocrats have decided already. Those technocrats have been named by Germany for the most part as Germany can force other smaller states to obey their will being their economic master.

Hmmmm - silly me. I was just going by the facts as stated here:

http://europa.eu/about-eu/institutions-bodies/european-parliament/index_en.htm

I should have listened to you all along. I guess lines like "Passing EU laws, together with the Council of the EU, based on European Commission proposals" are just put there as a conspiracy?

The EU is not democratic. The parliament doesn't have any relevant power,it's the Commission who makes all the rules and they aren't elected by anyone. They're there named by governments and mainly by Germany. Tusk Djssolbleum Schulze Juncker are all puppets
legislative power in the EU is shared by the Council and Parliament

The Commission, in the legislative area, has only the power of making the initial proposal
See these magnificent looking buildings? Brand new expensive windows, expensive material, expensive furnishing, etc.
Those buildings are expensive. EU uses some of our oney to do such things. But you know what? They rarely use these buildings. The lavish building is empty for more than 300 days per year. Not allowed to film empty trucks, etc. It is all about profit for the EU. They chill out, make their lives wealthy while we struggle. £50 million is spent on building maintenence, etc.
We can do fine without the EU. We need to stand up regardless.

The EU is not democratic this is crystal clear. It's the ruling nations who take all the powers mostly Germany and its satellites.

The EU is democratic, this is crystal clear.

All Member States (Governmenbts and peoples) have a say, and participate in making up the majorities (both in the Council and in the European Parliament) which take the key decisions.

decisions on the seat of the EU institutions have to be taken by EU Governments by unanimity. So, the fact that a decision on a single seat for the institutions has not been reached, is the fault of the Member States, not of the Union

yes, less decisions in the EU should be taken by unanimity, and more by majority voting : the system would become considerably more efficient

but, the Governments are afraid of expanding majority voting in the EU

It's not the fault of the member states, plural, but of the French. Everybody agrees there should only be a single seat, the French say it should be Strasbourg, because it's in France, everybody else says Brussels, because everything is already there.

not true. The French are not isolated, and Germany in particular supports retaining the EP plenary sittings in Strasbourg

by the way, ever heard of Luxembourg ?

No because Germany has satellites who obey them so they usually win. None of us people voted for Schulze Junker Djssolbleum Draghi.
The EU is clearly the most backward trading block - that's right its a trade block to external trade and the the most anti-UK body in the world it is clearly set up to exploit the UK.

A sovereign country needs at least these three things:

1.It should control its own laws, judiciary and enforcement

2.be able to print its own currency

3. control its own borders, military and foreign policy

The EU is clearly against UK soveriegnty

So true -and since we don't use the euro. The EU has one goal: they want to exploit the UK and use us to fund them and bail them wherever they can

We dont even know the names of the people who control the EU and make the choices. We need out.

Just out of curiosity, do you know the names of your local elected councillors? (Without looking them up?) Do you know the name of your MP?

Why would the EU want member states to have sovereignty, that would severely hinder it's own ambitions of statehood

Spot on mate, that's why we need rid of the EU permanently. Remain voters tend to be unaware that 41% of global exchange goes through London alone. Germany is not supposed to be allowed the army so now they want to make an EU army.Cant wait till we are free from the backwards European trading block, and if the EU tries to be silly with trade sanctions they'd be shooting themselves in the foot
