Hated the spectroscopy question!!!!
for the 1st q would i get the mark for ketone (carbonyl). I also put alkene
Original post by swimming002
i kind of remember the question!? i think i put hydrogen bonding

yeah I put hydrogen bonding as well, due to that -OH group on the compound.
for that agricultural methane source, I put cows' waste gases, is that wrong?

Put way too much time into revising for this and it turned out the paper was easier than usual, what a waste of time! Should have been doing maths revision instead.

it is hydrogen bonding.

For one of the questions " name the type of bond breaking that occurs" i put "homolytic rather than homolytic fission" would that loose the mark ?

I'm not sure. Because i think in what we study the only homoytic is fission. Not fussion, but tbf you probably didn't get the mark. I am sorry.

I researched past questions like this and the correct answer was, as quoted in the mark scheme:

"Homolytic (fission) / homolysis"

So fission probably isn't required for the mark.

I think it will depend on the discrepancy of the examiner.

For the methane source, pretty sure the only correct answer was the preparing of live cows for use in creation of Big Macs.

I put growing rice :P
