You can do a legal exec qualification and then do the CPE I think and then the LPC but bypass the training contract if you are in the fellowship of legal execs or whatever it is for long enough. One of the girls on my course is doing it. After the LPC she just has to do the fast track professional skills thing and then thats it.

To be a solictor after being a legal exec without going to uni yes I think.

Just to be a legal exec nope.

Look here

My friend gets to escape the training contract because shes been in practice and so has exemptions i think

Ahh right...so if i just wanted to stay as a legal exec would i still have to do a cpe? and even though the title suggests that i would be a legal exec am i still classed as a solicitor? Sorry to be a newsence

Read the link i posted. No you would be a legal executive.
A legal executive is a member of the institute of legal executives you would not be a solicitor.

You become a legal executive like this http://www.ilex.org.uk/howto_qualify/default.asp

You can become a solicitor without doing a degree if you are already a legal executive which was my first link but its really lengthy.
