Not true as it doesn't matter if its elastic or inelastic supply, if you shift the supply to the left both producer and consumer surplus decrease.

It's even simpler than that - it is a tax, which means revenue from it go to the government. There's no reason why the producer surplus will increase, which I think is what the answer said, though I don't have the paper with me. It's simply that the price of air fares go up. The only possible answer.

I really struggles for it. The only external costs I wrote was the lack of biodiversity and the stregthened resistance from bugs. I really should have written about less water for elsewhere but didn't cross my mind!

I drew the graph though and for the evaluation I just wrote about the difficulty quantifying, and the benefits of it. Then wrote about magnitude and stuff, so hoping I can at least get 9 marks

I hope you meant strengthened bug resistance was a benefit (leads to more food not being eaten by bugs), not a cost! A cost to wildlife, perhaps, through poisoning would be more appropriate!

There was a very, very similar question on an AQA exam a few years ago to this. Quite a nice question, though nine was a lot easier!

yes what are they?!

Aww, I wouldn't worry too much about it though, you might've still gotten some marks for definitions & stuff.
& hopefullyyyy the grade boundaries will be low, thinking back on it I think I messed up the opportunity cost question in the data response :s-smilie:

yeah but i MESSED up the data response!! haha me too!! I got confused so left the opp cost 6 mark to last min and then only got time to write a definition LOL oh dear.. in exams i just panic and forget exam technique and everything and write absolute irrelevant crap :frown:

My guess:

A B C D E N
60 50 43 35 32 25
There's a grade called N!? Thats so cool!!! okay I think I got like 52 ish so hopefully will get a B overall but so worried about macro!! I hate this subject ahhsjahkshed!!!
Is it true that we get 4 marks for "good grammar, good english and the use of specialist vocabulary where appropriate"? As in an extra 4 marks on top of your score (assuming you didn't get 80/80).

My teacher said we do. And I guess it makes sense because they say they award you marks for good english blah blah on the front...but don't acknowledge any of those marks in the marks scheme, so perhaps they are additional marks? Not sure, tbh...that's why I asked  Anyone know about this!?

my teacher said grammar marks are only awwarded for the 14 mark questions with stars on the side of them, you can t get extra marks over 14 though

So how did people who did q 10 find the next question?

D: After reading everyone's answers it sounds as though I've not done very well on this paper! Oh god.

Just a question... I did the cotton question and for the first fourteen marker i was only able to get decreasing revenue and ( i wrote about shares but i think it was wrong.. I wrote something like less value for shares less revenue) but i wrote at least 2/3 evaluation points.. Can you still get marks on just the evaluation even if your analysis is wrong?

And i for the PES question would it be wrong to say that cotton cant be stored because theres a risk of it getting eaten by the bullworm?

Don't worry. You're one of many...
Was anyone allowed a calculator in the exam?
Looking at what people have said on here, I think I've got all the multiple choice questions right - its just a case of whether I explained them enough now, there were definitely a couple where my explanations were a bit dubious, haha.

Yep, it says on the front of the paper that you're allowed to use a calculator

For question 8, the pension mcq. I first choose the asymmetric information choice and wrote 3-4 lines of explanation on it and then crossed that work out and choose the opportunity cost option for that mcq. Seeing as the opportunity cost option is incorrect, will i get any marks for the initial correct choice that i chose and the 3line explanation i crossed out?

If you replaced your crossed work with an answer then it will not be marked, if you crossed your work out and wrote nothing else, then it may be taken into consideration, however, if you crossed out B and put C i do nt think you ll get any credit by the Edexcel examiners, sorry :frown:
