You're an idiot. You think doing a specialisation in a part of dentistry for a year gives you master's degree? Give me a link, Im 1000000% sure that is not true.
BTW, can you learn to ****ing spell

Loool wow.... ****ed would be people who dnt bother getting an education at all... it doesnt matter if UK gives preference to wherever the doctors come from.. therez alwayz a job for doctors any wherebin the world.. and if u go to the north of uk then u might find 98%doctors are from romania amd bulgaria and india and pakistan.
So I dnt know where the ***k are u coming from and being rude for no reason. Dnt have anything nice to say so dont...
education is usefup anywhere in the world. And someone with an MBBS or BDS from romania will have more job oppertunities than most people. Sooooo snm

Got a source for this as i believe you couldn't be more wrong?

If by " therz another one now" you're referring to me i can assure you that i have no interest in getting involved in the argument between yourself and alevelzzz. I am simply stating that in four years of medical education based in the North of England i have met one doctor from eastern Europe.

Med at Newcastle. Whilst there will be a certain proportion of the workforce arising from outside of the UK i really don't think it is that high, particularly not at foundation. It more than likely increases past this point with, for example, 54% of applicants to core surgical training attaining their primary medical qualification outside of the UK. As to how many of these go on to make up the workforce of trainees i don't know.

Oh my GOD! Guys this is getting ridiculous! I don't understand why some people would bother to post on a forum if all they want to do is complain and speak badly of its content.

This forum is titled : "Applying abroad to study medicine (Romania, Bulgaria etc)". Unless you need help regarding studying abroad in one of these countries WHY BOTHER?!?! Yes, there are a lot of kids who go to these Eastern countries because they didn't get the grades to go to a better uni in the Uk, but here are also a lot of kids (including myself) who simply can't afford the tuition fees for a uk medical university. Whether we make it to FY1 or FY2 is no one else's business but our own. Whether we manage to work at a uk hospital is nobody's business but our own.

If a certain someone is scared that we are gonna "steal their jobs despite the fact that they are studying in a "superior" uk university when we are studying in Eastern Europe" then maybe that someone should study their ass off, quit complaining and try to focus on being the best medical student they could be. That's what I am planning to do. And when I get a job at a Uk hospital, it will be because I've earned it. And because I was minding my own business being the best I could possibly be.

So please stop it with this pointless conversation and let's focus on what this forum is actually about. Aka helping kids who want to study in an eastern Europe Uni. Grow up.

Well the university itself is not bad. The facilities are not up to the standard of England of course but they are trying to catch up with things. For example at the start of the year we had to pick an optional course and we had to get a form and sign it and hand it in to the admin people. However by the end of the year they had set up a system to do it online and there is now a portal where our grades are also housed online (previously your grades were not stored electronically). I would say the teaching is no worse than I have experienced at university in England. The Professors and their thinking is a bit more old school and they take attendance very seriously at the university. You are required to sign in for lectures but can miss up to 30% of lectures for a particular module. However each module has a practical component and you need to attend 100% of the practical classes to sit the final exam. If you miss one of the practical classes you have to recuperate. This is basically making up the class at another time but you also have to pay for that privilege. Most practical classes last for 2 hours and the recuperation fee is 9 lei per hour. So if you end up missing one practical class it usually sets you back 18 lei. With 1 being equivalent to roughly 5 lei you can see it can add up if you miss too many of these classes. Usually each module allows you to miss 3 practical classes but as I stated before they have to be made up.

The students are nice enough but as it is a highly international course everyone is from a slightly different background and upbringing. Also your level of English will most likely be superior to most if not all of the students as for them it won't be their first language. I find the city to be okay but I think for me most cities would be a come down anyway because I am from London. It's small but a big proportion of the city is comprised of students. There are some nice bars and coffee shops too if you are in to that sort of thing. From what I have heard the university is the best in Romania and it does feel like they try their utmost to maintain a good standard. I hope this has helped. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

how about accomodation etc, number of british students high there? cost of living? how do the natives treat international students? how are the classes?

Ok so accommodation costs vary depending on the location of the apartment/flat. If you want to live in the centre of the city or right next to the university the rent will be significantly higher. However, if you are willing to stay between 10-15 minutes walking distance then you can get a more reasonable price. On average a single person can expect to pay around 250 euros per month on rent. If you live with another person the rent for two can sometimes be in the region of 350-400 euros, again depending on location. Utilities are extra and vary in price depending on use and time of year. In the winter for example the gas bills are much higher due to the cold weather and therefore higher use of heating. The temperature can get as low as minus 20 degrees. You can expect to pay somewhere in the region of roughly 50 euros per month on utilities, although this could vary.

Eating out is cheaper than in England. Eating a Pizza in a pizzeria can cost somewhere in the region of 21-25 lei so around 5 for a large pizza. There is also a restaurant right next to the university which has 30% off all food between 3pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday. To be safe I would say on food you could spend up to 40 euros a week. So all in all I would estimate 460 euros a month although this really does vary from person to person. Some could come in slightly lower or even significantly higher depending on their habits and other expenditures. I haven't really factored in any other activities you may want to do like go to the gym which can vary between 70-100 lei per month but I hope you kind of get the picture of expenditure.

The intake for 2013-2014 of international students was 200 but in the years before it was only 100. Due to the increased intake, our year was split into two segments which had their own timetable, so to be honest I can only speak for my half of the year as I don't know many from the other half. The majority of the international students are from Germany. British people make up quite a small percentage and in my half of the year there are up to 10 students from the UK. As there is an English section, there are not really any homegrown natives on our course. There is a separate Romanian section and therefore, once again our exposure to them is very limited. I will say that I have found the local people to be quite friendly and welcoming.

The classes themselves vary in how good they are. Some things feel like fillers and a bit of a waste of time, whereas other subjects really make you feel like a medical student. By far the most interesting and challenging subjects/modules we had to tackle in year one were anatomy and physiology. There are cadavers that you get to see and there is the possibility of doing small amounts of dissecting, depending on your practical instructor. I hope that helps. If you think of anything else feel free to ask
