The 2012 season ends at the inaugural Brazilian Grand Prix, staged by the unique and twisty Interlagos circuit which has famously decided world championships from the past years. Alonso winning both of his world championships here back in 05 and 06, Raikkonen claiming his maiden F1 world title in 07, Hamilton triumphing after a hard fought campaign in 08 and Button taking the title with Brawn in 09. Yet again, we find ourselves with a championship decider this late in the season.

Both Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel in contention for the ultimate accolade, something only a handful of other f1 drivers have achieved.
Becoming a triple world champion.

Alonso trails Vettel by 13 points.

Vettel will win the title if...
* He finishes in the top four
* He finishes fifth, sixth or seventh and Alonso is second or lower
* He finishes eighth or ninth and Alonso is third or lower
* He finishes 10th or lower and Alonso fails to make it onto the podium

Alonso will win the title if...
* He wins the race and Vettel is fifth or lower
* He finishes second and Vettel is eighth or lower
* He finishes third and Vettel is 10th or lower

Dear Bernie

I vote for rain and a finish as close as 2008, but a Ferrari WDC instead.

Love

Well apart from the championship battle, Monisha Kaltenborn and Dr Vijay Mallya will be having their 'intimate' battle together as seen in the sky exclusive promotional video above! - ahh so funny

But back on topic, this should be interesting if it rains. Hopefully it goes down to the absolute wire

Bernie lurking in a bush with a hosepipe, rubbing his hands together with an evil glee as he turns on the pump... That's a fantastic mental image!

I've never heard of Burn before...

Still, I'll be Kimi is happy coke are getting involved...
I am no big fan of Vettel but I do hope he wins. I really don't like Alonso after his days at McLaren, when he did the most stupid things to his team mate; whether it was staying in the pits too long so Lewis couldn't set a qualifying lap or just running him off the track. I'm no fan of Ferrari either, they have no dignity. They always do childish things to get Alonso to win, like changing Massa's gearbox or ruining Massa's qualifying- making him act as a slip stream machine for Alonso. If you're going to win, do it properly!

Does anybody know the weather forecast?

How exactly is he living in a dream world? He's perfectly entitled to say what he wants.

The guy is on form and also we've reached the business end of the season and yet Massa completely outpeformed Alonso last race..... the race where Alonso said he was going to 'attack' to get infront of Vettel.

If he's in the lead and Alonso is anywhere near him, he'll be told to slow down.

If Vettel is out of the race and the Ferrari's are in 1st and 2nd without the drivers in third place being within close range then Massa will be allowed to win the race (provided that he is ahead of Alonso when vet DNF's out of the race)

Hopefully Massa will be on Peak form for his home GP to help Ferrari secure second in the constructors and Hopefully Alonso wins the title, would love for Maldonado and Senna to do well this weekend to.

Not really. If you take the time to understand Alonso's performance you'll know that they were on different setups. Alonso had a different diffuser setting, an 'upgrade', but one which actually turned out to be quite slower than the original which was on Massa's car.

So why did Alonso opt for the upgrade? He could have just reverted to the original version.

Upgrade had better tyre management by being easier on rear tyre degradation/overheating, good for tyres (in normal circumstances).

The odd conditions of the Austin track meant they actually needed a car that could generate heat very quickly (like the tyre-eating Merc, qualifying 5th)

Of course, they only realised once qualifying had started, by which point no changes could be made.

It isn't the first time Ferrari have taken a step backwards with upgrades. In India they reverted to the car spec used in Canada and ended up being more competitive than at any of the recent races with all the upgrades.

They said that the upgrades aren't working because they got the correlations wrong in their wind tunnel, is that a reason for why some of the parts aren't working as well as the team hoped for?
