CH3 Titration Practical Questions

Hi guys, I've got my CH3 (WJEC) 2 stage titration practical tomorrow morning. I've been doing some past paper questions this evening and I'm stuck on 2 of the first questions on one of the papers!

I was wondering whether anybody could help me out? The questions are as follows:

- Explain why the flask containing the Hydroxide/Carbonate solution must not be swirled more than necessary during the titration (hint: CO2 is an acidic gas)

- Explain why the total number of moles of acid needed is equal to the number of moles of hydroxide plus twice the number of moles of Carbonate

Thanks guys
