Open Mathematics

Hiya all,

I am about to embark on the open mathematics course with the OU soon as I get the funds together. Just wanted people opinions on the course? what is the work load like for this course?

I want this course to lead my into a BSc in Physics

I've been considering this course, but I'm thinking of doing Y162 before it, which is a 10-point short course, as I'm absolutely terrible with Maths, so the more practice the better! I'll be starting Open Maths in January if all goes to plan.

I'm having trouble registering though. I can't seem to request Financial Support on the website, and I know I am entitled to it! So I have to register via snail mail instead!

Hi,

I did this course as part of my Psych BSc hons. Loved it. The assignments did require some time to put together. Don't try and word process them - I wasted time in trying to do that.
Found that if I progressed through assignments after having completed the relevant study and did it in stages it was easier.
The majority of the texts were user friendly, but don't be put off by the volume of them, you quite quickly figure out what needs to be done and want you can skim over.
