For the projectile motion question, the height was quite straight forward.

We knew the speed was 10ms1 10 ms^{-1}

Found using Pythagoras on the Horizontal and Vertical components of velocity at that point.

We knew the Horizontal component was;

14cosα 14cos\alpha

And for the vertical, where the final velocity vertical velocity here will be represented by V;

v2=(14sinα)22gh v^2 = (14sin\alpha)^2 -2gh

Thus;

102=(14cosα)2+(14sinα)22gh 10^2 = (14cos\alpha)^2 + (14sin\alpha)^2 -2gh

Using the identity;

cos2α+sin2α=1 cos^2\alpha + sin^2\alpha = 1

102=1422gh 10^2 = 14^2 -2gh

As for finding AB, find the time using a suvat, I personally made a quadratic in t, found the two values and took the biggest, then used S=Ut S = Ut , where U was the horizontal component of velocity, initially.

Mate you have overcomplicated it too much, it is simply :

KE lost=gpe gained

0.5m(196-100)=mgh

H=48/g (4.9)

Thats literally all you had to do for part a
For the lamina question on the angle I did 60-tan^-1(3.8/6) because I thought the triangle was equilateral. Such a stupid mistake! :frown: How many marks out of 4 might I get? Someone reply please!
For question 6 I made an error when working out the time and got 0.525 instead of 1.90 which gave a horizontal distance of 3.87m instead of 14.0m, anyone like to guess how many marks gone that is? 4?

when doing the second part of thr truck question, i wrote down mass of the truck is 180kg instead of 1800kg and did everything else correct, would i only drop 1 mark?

b) not sure about this, I think it was find a speed at a time but I don't know


Thank you, i did it again as I got 6 for b but everyone else got 2, I appear to have thought that 2*(2^2)=4 -.- not my best moment, oh well

From his predictions he also also said it will be like June 11 (we are ****ed i will advice you to look no further than the last letter in this sentence E)

June 11 Grade Boundaries M2;

75- 100ums
71- 90ums
68- 80ums

Less than 68 is B C D etc.

My calculator was in radians (I know, what the hell!), and I took the width of the lamina to be 8 instead of 12.... wthhhhhh
