Guardian : Do we need a feminist party in the UK?

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/15/women-of-britain-own-feminist-party-sweden

What would this party look like? Well, for a start, no men would be allowed.

My reaction to 99% of Grauniad's feminist section articles:

It would never happen.
To do so would mean losing the grip they have on the reins of power in the other main parties, something they never even acknowledge having. They would have to stand on their own two feet and face the fact that when pulled out and examined, many, and possibly a majority of women, disagree with them.
They have too much power now to risk it.
It would probably be a pointless single-issue party that never got anywhere. A bit like the Green Party.
Women are so hard done by in the UK.
What is this equal pay nonsense about? We have equal pay. Jobs don't have a men's rate and a women's rate.

The comments are hilarious. You know you've entered the domain of the bat**** insane when even Guardian readers think you're being a bit nutty.

This.

Guardian comments > everything. Check out Monbiat's piece on Comment is Free today.
I can understand having no male candidates, but no male members seems unnecessary (and I believe illegal under UK law).

Main problem with this, as with a lot of parties in the UK, is that FPTP doesn't give many openings.
Don't agree with the no men part at all.

That bit is just moronic.

It's to much like a women vs men thing. To not allow men to be a part of it is just stupid and unhelpful.

Green isn't single issue.

So this would be a party to end discrimination of women by discriminating against men. Logic. Use some.
I'm a borderline feminist and I approve of this message.

This sums up my feelings in general about radical feminism...
There are plenty of more absurd parties in the UK. I don't see the problem with having a feminist party as long as they realise they'll never have any kind of significant influence (probably).
Even the BNP allow coloured members.
I think The Guardian and The Onion got their articles mixed up again. Seems to happen a lot...
Given men make up roughly 50% of voters (probably less than that of people who use their vote), how would they ever hope to get into power? There really aren't enough women who would vote for this, let alone men.

What would be the correct term according to this weeks Political Correctness Handbook?
A political party that excludes people from it based on gender.

Now tell me feminism is about equality.

I'll just start a whites only political party in the interest of equality, I can't wait for the guardian article giving me all sorts of praise! Equality!!!! And if you don't look like me, stay away!

Only because they've been forced to.

It is at least reasuring that the younger generation, perhaps represented by TSR, doesn't by into it. The thing that annoys me is that feminism claims that its about equality, when we all know it is about a particular brand of very left wing socialist politics. And when you don't agree with their politics, you are immediately called a racist, homophobic, bigoted women hater, which in my view is tantamount to emotional blackmail.
