isnt it 90% at A2 the 70% at AS to allow 80% aggregate over two years and 90% in a2 gives an A*

No, it's 80% at AS.

You don't need 80% at AS, physicsmaths is right. You need 90% overall in your A2 units, and an average of 80% over both AS and A2, so 70% at AS and 90% at A2 would get you an A*.

This is right:
From Excel website (but its the same for all of them)

To score an A* in an Edexcel A level you must:
get an A grade for your overall A level
produce a high level performance at A2 - scoring at least 90% of the A2 UMS marks

To get an A* in Edexcel A level Mathematics you must:
score at least 480 UMS marks for your overall A level grade
score at least 180 UMS marks in Core 3 and Core 4.

For other six-unit Edexcel A levels you must:
score at least 480 UMS marks for your overall A level grade
score at least 270 UMS marks at A2.

For four-unit Edexcel A levels you must:
score at least 320 UMS marks for your overall A level grade
score at least 180 UMS marks at A2.

And unlike Cambridge you can count your resits of AS.

The agreed posting date for results from all colleges is 9th Jan...

http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/admissions/handbook/section1/1_2.html

7 January Pool interview lists distributed to Colleges (by 3.00pm).
9 January Agreed posting date for decision letters to applicants.
10-13 January Pool interviews take place (14 January is a backup date for pool interviews).
13 January Full Lent Term begins.
23 January Final date for entry of decisions into CamSIS for onward transmission to UCAS.

Interesting that pool interview candidates would appear to be in competition with each other as all other places have been decided.
Come onnnnn, Corpus
Just got an interview for Medicine at Corpus!!! 10/12

The way Edexcel awards A* for Maths puts wayy too much emphasis on C3 and C4. I worked out afterwards I could have completely not taken S1 and still got an A* which is crazy!
Which colleges haven't started sending out interview invitations yet? I know Trinity Hall hasn't as their website says that no invitations have been sent as of yet for any courses...

Yep, Blazar is right. I've posted this at least 5 times in this thread; the Caius admissions secretary told me they will begin sending interviews out on the third week of November, which means they should start coming out today, or it not then definitely in the next few days.

Ohh thx guys , plz plz post on this thread once you get their invitation for interviews. Good luck to all of us!!
I received the invitation to Murray!!!! On 11th December ^^

That's awesome  are you a serious fencer?
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any Cambridge Law Test practice papers anywhere either on the web/ available for purchase? The only ones I've seen are from the Oxbridge applications site and I have no idea how closely they match the real thing, as I'm an international applicant! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nope, only the specimen papers that are available on Cambridge's website. It is not supposed to be something you can really prepare for, and that's why there's nothing for it outside of the official practice test.

Congratulations! So we might see there, I have mine on the same day 😊
Do you have to do only one interview or a test too?

Thanks for your help- I'll just have to try a few comprehension and essay questions in that case!
