AS level function problem!

The function f is defined by f(x)=2x^2-8x + 11 for x=R 1)Express f(x) in the form a(x + b)^2 + c, where a, b and c are constants? 2) state range of f

3) explain why f does not have an inverse
What have you done so far?
Think about what range is - inequalities for the range of y-values f can produce. As it's a quadratic, this range won't just be y = R, will it?
