AABB for international relations

Is it possible to study international relations at uni with 1 essay subject? i.e. History.

I'm applying for politics/IR type things this year, I've done quite a lot of volunteering for a political party and helped host a Question Time in my school. Also did a week at a Law Firm, and a week at a Barristers chambers. I see this as being enough but as long as you have a couple of rich/valuable experiences to write about you'll be fine.
