Keep clear box - help settle this argument

Hi,

We are having an argument regarding this. There is this keep clear box on the a busy main road with a camera facing onto that stretch of road. My friend says we can't go and wait in that box to do a right turn from a side road onto the main busy road and we will get a ticket. I disagree, how else would you be able to turn right without doing in two sections. Who is right?
Keep clear boxes generally aren't to be stopped in unless it's not possible to avoid doing do, whereas with a yellow box junction you're allowed to stop in it if oncoming traffic is preventing you from turning right. However, a keep clear box is generally advisory in the name of courtesy and not mandatory, so if you happen to stop in one you won't be penalised; whereas a box junction is legally enforceable.

You'll need to clarify a couple of things so we can help you:

What colour are the markings?

Are you turning onto a dual carriageway? If so, is the central reservation at least as wide as your car is long?

Can you provide a link to the google streetview image of the exact location in question?
