Geography - rivers quick question

Hi,
What are the possible reasons that the amount of sediment in a river could increase?
Thanks
Increased discharge of water, means transportation will occur at a faster rate. Thus, deposition can increase. Soil erosion - small aggregate could find themselves, also, int he river.

Cheers man,

Also please could you help me with this question? How does freeze-thaw erosion help to create V-Shaped valleys? Thanks

Are you not capable of googling it

As the river erodes downwards the sides of the valley are exposed to freeze-thaw weathering which loosens the rocks (some of which will fall into the river) and steepens the valley sides.
