I too would love a question on Thatcher, I based my personal study on her!

Doing Unit F and U - Russian paper, anyone confident on that?
Good luck for everyone tomorrow, apart from those doing alternatives R and G as I am relying on you to do badly so my marks are scaled up :p: - nah seriously, best of british to all concerned.

Why do I have to be doing Alternative B? What kind of a stupid decision was that for the College to take... Oh well, I'll just do my best and try to sound like I know what I'm on about. As long as it isn't a question I know NOTHING about, I'll survive.
I think a lot of the decision about modules depend on what your teachers can teach best - I know with the staff at my school, anything other than G,R and T would be pretty much suicide. as much as our set slag off the teachers, they have picked the units they can best teach.
Yes! Finally a thread I can vent in before I resume this time consuming and painful last-minute revision!! I'm doing Britain and Germany, and both are usually quite predictable papers, but I don't want to rely on that, just in case it goes against me. I am hoping an FRG/GDR question comes up on the own knowledge part of the Germany paper and with Britain I am praying for a question regarding Thatcher's downfall, and the oil price crisis, because I will then be very happy!! Good luck everyone, I hope we all do well!

did anyone else do alternative E and R? the second question on the european paper was so hard, i couldnt think of any reformist movements so i just waffled on reforms in russia and germany, but i did mention the socialists and liberals during Bismarck's reign. but as i was writing my conclusion i realised i hadnt used the sources  :bawling:
The British paper was much better: loved the two questions about the 1945 election, lol I did the question about the 2 Labour governments in 1924 and 1929.

I thought the Tudor England paper was quite nice, but the European one centred around the work of the Spanish Inquisition which I found quite hard... because I don't really know much about it and couldn't stop thinking of the Monty Python sketch.:s-smilie: Not good when you're meant to be discussing how much it "terrorised" minorities.
ahh did russia and britain :s-smilie:

sources on russia were the worst ever and the question i done on war was ust as bad :s-smilie:

britain was also bad for me.... sources on conservatives not to bad, however the question on wilson was messed up.

so flopped history A level :s-smilie:

Mine was abysmal. I have 229/300 for AS and expect to get 120/120 UMS for my Personal Study. So, if my maths is right, that means I need about 90/180 from the two papers for an A. That's still not a certainty at all, though. They were HARD.

i think an a is 480/600 that means you need like 131/180 in your last 2, if my maths is right.

Either way i thought the exam went pretty well all things considered im doing option O and E i thought E was ok, second question was a little tough but it was ok, option O was a breeze all the way through the questions were like the ones they give as basic examples on the specification. I nearly creamed my pants when i saw the questions because i was bricking it about this option.

Took the exam today found it a bit awkward and its still annoying me now..only because I dont have a clue how i did..overall id say I could of done better but i could of done alot worse.

Russian paper was alrite..it was basically what i expected for question one, althougth the synoptic had a slightly awkward angle to it
I did question 2 on the purges which i found nicer, as this was one of my main subjects i was hoping for

British paper was not as good, 1945 labour came up which i didnt want (spent revision time on conservatives + liberals for nothing) but it was on why labour won the election which i found quite do-able
Question 2 i was hoping for lloyd george to come up and it did, but again with a wierd angle to the question, tried my best got alll content i could remember down and attempted analysis wherever i could.

I'm aiming for a B so i worked out that i needed to average about 60% on each paper, I hope to GOD! that i get that.
Feeling tottally unsure but all thats keeping goin is that i felt just as wierd about AS history last year and did pretty good so..fingers crossed

I did Mid-Tudor Crisis 1547-1558. The questions were quite kind actually and I was so lucky I revised the rebellions of 1549 a few hours before the exam, otherwise I would've been considering a grade U lol as loads of it was focussed on them.
But yeah, went quite well I thought, fingers crossed.
