Questions about how they mark papers.

Hey!
I just came across a question when doing M1 revision and completed it successfully. Although i got the right answer, my method is completely different to that in the mark scheme. Will i still be rewarded with full credit?

It is this question here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHk5rN0rNfY
Instead of taking x-2 and 12-x as my differences, i said the difference between the mass of the two tensions was x and y. Therefore, once i solved to get 100=xm and 150=ym, knowing that y+x=10, i could obtain the answer of 6m.

As long as you have a valid method and you get the correct answer how could they mark it incorrect.
unless told a specific method to use, gaining the correct answer is usually credited.
