Cerelle HELP

Hi. I recently swapped from Rigevidon to Cerelle. I am on my 4th pill of cerelle. The doctor told me I could switch at any point in the packet of combined pill to mini pill. I only had two left so swapped and didn't finish the packet ( I also thought this may stop my period ). However, the patient information leaflet makes it sound like you should finish your pack of pills?! I have already had unprotected sex. But also according to guidelines on the NHS website you will be protected after just 2 days and should be protected immediately if already taking contraception. I find this advice contradictory. Have I done the wrong thing? Could I now be pregnant?
