An FE college is different to a Sixth Form. They are however, both classed as post-16 education.

That's my line of thinking too, however the options for the type of school/college/uni most recently attended are: UK State school, UK Independent school and FE College

I imagine a sixth form would fall under a UK state school as it is not an FE college or an independent school. Sixth forms are also funded by the government, so it would make sense for it to be classed as a UK state school.
