Hello , wondering if there is any previous or current students who have studied or are studying Ma Socialwork at Middlesex (14months) .Can you please give me an idea of how the timetable is like. How many days do you have your placement a week and how many days lectures/study leave? What time does lectures usually start? When are you given time to write your dissertation? Where are you doing your placement ? I am trying to get a rough guide to help me plan my childcare accordingly .

The language test is an essay. I believe they are testing you on how well you structure your point of view/knowledge, grammar, spelling etc.Make sure you have an understanding of what the role of a social worker (if that is what you will be studying) and the skills required as well as the values .The information I have given you is based on the literacy test for social work.

Hello,

Nice to hear that you are interested in studying with us!
The facilities are really good and include a specialist environmental and occupational safety laboratory where you'll carry out practical assessments, as well as specialist monitoring and other equipment.

In terms of the teaching, there will be both practical work k in the form of workplace visits, risk assessments and laboratory simulations, as well as attending lectures, workshops and seminars.

We are running an Open Evening on the 20th of June. Why don't you come along, have a look and a chat with the current lecturers and students?
You can book your place here: https://www.mdx.ac.uk/get-in-touch/meet-us/pg-open-days

Have a great day!

Hi Ludovica,

I have applied for MA Novel Writing and I have a few questions:

1) Is it possible to get in touch with current/ past students to find out about their experience?
2) The website says there will be an interview, does anyone know what kind of questions are asked so that I can prepare?

Thank you!

Hello,

The lecturer got back to me and;
- Here is the link to a webinar that they have run last week http://breeze.mdx.ac.uk/ps3jnx9znjq4/
- There won't be an interview but only personal statement, that is a mistake in the website.

Hope it helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Ludovica,

This is very useful. Thanks for this. Is this how the course is taught, through live webinars, or are there prerecorded videos? If prerecorded, can I see an example?

Where was this webinar advertised, so I can see if there were more?

Can I see the profiles of all the four faculty involved on the programme? (I've seen Adam and Lorna's profiles)

Are there any examples of students who have gone on to be writers/academics?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I would like to study my PGCE in a language at Middlesex. I know that it’s an option that has been available in the past because even my old French teacher got her PGCE from there. I am really curious to know because it’s a great uni just minutes away from where I live!

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,
I have an offer for MSc in Data Science starting Sept 2019. I would like to get some feedback from someone who is studying/finished studying this course. How was the experience? How intensive is the course, frequency of lectures, quality of teaching, etc.
Could you please help me with the information or connect me with someone who can?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,

I've been accepted to study a Psychology MPhil/PhD at Middlesex. Does anyone know when the term starts for postgraduates?
