Can grudges be overcome?

Is it worth trying to rebuild a friendship with someone that was there for you when you were going through a mental illness, but later completely blocks you out of their life, due to a misunderstanding?
They key word here is misunderstanding which means the person thought something happened (which was a friendship breaker) which didn’t. As long as you clarify the misunderstanding then it would be good to rebuild the friendship just because if they helped you throughout your mental health issues, it means they genuinely cared about you then. And probably still do now. So l say go for it
I always think life is to short to bare a grudge.
If it was a misunderstanding, then my advice would be for you to re kindle the friendship.

Friendships can be rebuilt but it's all about timing and where that other person is in their lives. Reach out to them after some time e.g. 3 months or maybe even after a year. With time, if they really were your true friend they won't object to reconnecting with you. Also keep in mind, sometimes ppl block others out to protect themselves from getting hurt.
