Books recommended about psychology or criminology
Hi, I am looking to apply for undergraduate course of either Psychology or Criminology. Could you please let me know which books would be recommended to write on your personal statement to show your interest in these subjects?
This might be the wrong answer, but I’m tempted to write any of the Tartan Noir Inspector Rebus series by Ian Rankin, or alternatively the more forensic criminal books by Val McDermid.
I confess that I did write & mention these books in my PS last year, and got one successful offer, but not in your field of Psychology or Criminology!
If you seek more dusty/dry ‘impressive’ text-books, then check some of the bigger universities, eg Oxford “reading lists” for summer pre-reading. Some smaller colleges don’t have lists, that I’ve seen. Oh, if you are interviewed then you may be questioned about the books, I was, so only put something that you’ve read, and might remember.
