can anyone help me with this question? How many straight-chain structural isomers of C7H15Cl contain a chiral carbon atom? the answer is 2 but i dont understand why

You can't work it out without drawing out the isomers. That's not too hard considering you have to only use straight chain isomers. There are seven carbons, so the chlorine can only go on carbon #1, #2, #3 or #4 Now look to see which of those has an asymmetric (chiral) carbon atom.
