Life at BCU (PGCE students)

Any current/past BCU PGCE students able to share their experiences of the course/uni/living in Birmingham?

Apologies for the long list of Qs below. Feel free to pick and choose which you answer. Any experience you can share is welcome.

Some specific things I'm interested in:
+ How easy was it to find accommodation and how far was it from South Campus / the city centre? What was the rough cost of accomm for the year?
+ How easy is it to get to placements on public transport? Is it expensive?
+ Do you have any free time for clubs and societies?
+ Do you feel part of city life? Is Birmingham an interesting place to live?
+ Do you feel part of the university community?
+ How much time do you spend at the South Campus? Do you make much use of other BCU buildings/facilities in the city?
+ What made you choose BCU and would you choose them again?

Thanks in advance
