Planning to do biomed- should I even consider that uni?

I’m currently doing biomed at Middlesex. I didn’t think I’d get on well due to what people said about the uni, but for biomed I’ve found it amazing! In fact, all sciences at Middlesex (because we have a lot of shared modules with students from other science courses) are interactive, engaging and helpful! The lecturers are always there to help with anything, the facilities are incredible!! I’m actually changing degree but not because of biomed, simply because I feel it’s no longer the career for me, but I’m doing a healthcare science course at Middlesex because of how much I personally love the uni! With biomed, some modules do tests every week in the first 30mins of the lecture on the topic you’re going to be studying in that lecture which pushes you to revise for the topic prior to the lecture and have a better understanding as it’s being taught! It’s actually a very good revision method! But long story short, personally, I’m enjoying Middlesex and would recommend biomed at Middlesex!☺️

Hello, Brrrrrrrrrr6

Thank you for your question, my name is Rebecca I am a student ambassador for Middlesex University.
I just graduated from Middlesex University in June of this year I would definitely say Middlesex University isn't perfect but no university is.

I would say don't just go off what a few people have said have a look at the National Student Survey Results this is the courses results https://discoveruni.gov.uk/course-details/10004351/144B900K4/FullTime/
Also look at other university league tables as well as Course league tables.

Also think about what you want to gain from university, what sort of career do you want to go into and research what universities offer what you want.

I would also ask yourself are you ready for university its a big leap from school or college its a majority of independent learning and unlike some places you are not spoon fed and you are treated like an adult capable of self directed and independent learning. Foundation years are good for bridging the gap and giving you time and space for personal development and growth to improve your learning and critical thinking skills to bridge the gap between further education and higher education.

Good luck with your applications if you have any more questions feel free to message me.
