Oxbridge GCSEs/A levels

I have got fairly awful GCSE results (for my school at least):

Music - 9
Religious Studies - 8
English Literature - 7
English Language - 7
Maths (Higher) - 7
Single science - 5
Drama - 5
French - 3

Will these results seriously hinder my chances of applying to Cambridge/Durham/Edinburgh for History? I am confident that I can get A*AA

Cambridge don't really look at GCSEs. Presumably you go to a "good" school? Why not history at GCSE?

Was not at all interested in it after having an awful teacher in year 9. I became very interested in History/Politics after the 2020 election, however.

Universities either dont look at GCSEs at all other than 5 at GCSE grade 4 and above or score them as a small part of overall applications. Your grades are good. However places like Durham for History are very competitive so it is impossible to know whether they might affect you. Perhaps you could email these universities who can give you more advice.
