Help biology Q

Help I don’t under why the answer is this.
I know it’s supposed to be simple math q but I can’t seem to figure out the scale and what the
initial and final is

It's a log scale! (semi-log graph paper)
It can be a bit confusing to work out, here are some images from wikihow which might be useful:

Note that for the second one, the spacings between the lines would normally be getting smaller, then large –> small again (as shown in the first one)

The little increments (see the note above) shown would be 1 x 10^6, 2 x 10^6, 3 x 10^6... up to 10 x 10^6 which is the same as 1 x 10^7. And then you would get 2 x 10^7, 3 x 10^7, and so on :smile:

I still get 7 for the initial

Look:

2 x 10^7
And then log( 2 x 10^7)
I got 7

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean?

Remember the question asks for the number of generations per hour between 2.5 and 6 hours. How are you getting 7?
