Statistical Distributions A level Maths HELP

Need help on Part d and e. Only had one lesson on Statistical Distributions but its coming up in exam.
Appreciate any help.

I find stats problems like these a bit counterintuitive.
It's often the case in real life that you make a hypothesis first, then you carry out the test, then you do the hypothesis testing. But anyway.

So what's the teacher's hypothesis (that's the reading comprehension part of the problem)? In words is also okay, but to carry out the hypothesis test you might want to rewrite it in maths, i.e. the alien greek letters.
Then everything else should be routine, I hope.
