All this work to be apart of the matrix

We have to be in education for atleast 18 years (if you go university) just to get a generic 9-5 job. We have to work our ass off at school just to get a 9-5 job. This is unfair and ridiculous!

If that is what you think then you clearly have not engaged in the education process at all. 13 years of education should have given you a grounding of knowledge and skills on many facets of human endeavour. When you walk out of the gate after that time, stretching in front of you, is a world of endless possibilities and opportunities. And all you seem to be able to identify is the one that involves sitting at a desk from 9-5.

What about:
Discovering something new?
Starting your own business?
Helping people who have more need than you?
Protecting / enhancing the environment for the enjoyment of all and future generations?
Learning and expanding your own understanding of the world around you?

The world is not a Matrix. Sadly too many people (such as yourself?) choose to accept that it is and then unsurprisingly are disappointed at what they have chosen.
Even if you get rich you'll still be part of the matrix buddy stop crying. You only need to make enough to subsidise your ideal lifestyle even someone on £20k a year can have a decent life
You could just er, not get a 9-5 job. Plenty of variety out there.
