How would you react if, an scenario for fun and for everyone to answer
. Your boyfriend of 4 years ( boyfriend is important!)
. You have 2 kids
. And your whole family loves him
. You live in a nice house, and your financial state is swell, especially with him
. You could even say your in love with him, he's the perfect man
. And suddenly ..
. He says to you " I want to have a open relationship "
. You DEFINITELY do not want this
How would you react? No wrong answers !

Are these two kids the children of said boyfriend?
As the above poster says, if you don't want one, state very firmly that you don't want one. It's not something you should compromise on if it's not what you want, but similarly if the boyfriend is dead set on having an open relationship then he's going to be frustrated with being monogamous if that's not where is heart is at.
Ultimately it might mean splitting up but remaining amicable for the sake of the children.
It's an awful shame, but being with someone for the rest of your life where one party feels as though they're the only person doing the compromising isn't going to work out well in the long run, but this is not a situation where both parties can compromise, I'm afraid.
