How do I know that the friction for block B is acting up the slope?IMG_2761.jpeg

You want the max value for mass of B. If it was 2kg it would be in equilibrium with no resistive forces. Increasing its mass, then friction will still hold it in place until its too large and it starts to move. For > 2 kg its attempting to move down the slope so friction must be acting up the slope.

If you wanted the min value for mass of B, then it would be on the point of moving up the slope and friction would be acting down the slope.
