I am going into y13 in September but feel as if I haven't learnt anything due to a lack of a competent teacher as well well as a lack of effort on my part.Does anyone have any tips/links/advice to help achieve the highest grades possible

Past papers, and ideally ask a business teacher to help you with the mark scheme.
Business studies is an essay based subject, so what constitutes adequate for specific criteria can vary i.e. it's more of an art form.

A lot of the content also require memorisation e.g. lists, concepts, matrices. If you need tactics on memorisation, let me know.

Use diagrams in the papers (it's accepted), and know your defintions and formulae off by heart.

If you need to know the tactics urgently, you're a bit late to the game.

[*]Learn about active recall; if you don't know about this, see the following: https://aliabdaal.com/activerecallstudytechnique/, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVajQPuRmk8
[*]Use the Feyman technique: https://thomasjfrank.com/feynman-technique-lpc-method/
[*]Draw out images instead of making lists - an image is easier to remember than a list
[*]Use mnemonics: https://artofmemory.com/blog/mnemonic/
[*]Do practice papers - as you would be ultimately graded on your performance in your exam, not how much you remember. Review the areas you score the lowest in and have the least knowledge about
[*]Buy exam practice books specific for your exam board
[*]Use mind maps - make them as colourful as you wish
[*]Analyse a topic at multiple angles, because different perspective makes a topic seem more important to your brain as well as exposing gaps in your knowledge
[*]Try to form links between one topic with another - your brain works on building relationships; the more links you have to someone or something, the more important it is to you
[*]Repetition - the mother of all learning; repeatedly expose yourself to the topic
[*]Try to regurgitate material from memory; review the material and see where your gaps are. Work on areas where you're fuzzy on
[*]Use a revision guide specific to your exam board to review your weak areas
[*]Use memory palace. See: https://www.magneticmemorymethod.com/memory-palace/ (your family might be annoyed if you post everything around the house, so do this sparingly)
[*]Use the storyline technique. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpaItR_eRBc
[*]If you have a study buddy, bounce ideas off each other as well as using the Feyman technique. Again, repeat exposure and forming relationships between topics, whilst analysing a topic at different angles.

The formulae and material in business studies are usually straightforward. The challenge that you really have is applying the knowledge correctly and with critical thinking and strong analysis. This is where you get the most marks, not through regurgitation.

urgently was abit of a stretch, I knew about all of these except the storyline method, which Im thankful for.It has always been hard for me to sit down and revise but because of my future ambitions I know getting the highest grades possible will be essential in securing the future I wish for myself
