Study abroad

Hey guys,

I'm leaving to study abroad in Canada at the end of this month. This will be my first time flying and I have a question in regards to the declaration of funds. I'm assuming this will be similar to other countries so I'm wondering if other people could put down their experience. So, for the Study permit I need a minimum of $10,000 for the year in which on arrival I'll have $9,000 since SFE divides the funds by two installments ($18,000 altogether)

I'm wondering whether id have to declare I have more then $10,000 in my funds since I have an agreement letter from SFE. Or whether this only includes money you have currently. I'm concerned about the penalty if I failed to do this correctly and, I'm concerned about the implication of not gaining approval from the Immigration Officers.
