Hey I know it's a bit early but does anyone have any predictions for what will come up this year for Edexcel?

I have a question and I really value your thoughts and advice. Recently, I registered all my classmates on a certain website and received a reward for it. Now, I'm pondering whether this is considered normal or ethical.
So here are the details: this reward helped me pay for a portion of my tuition and session fees. Do you think this is fair game? Do you see any ethical or moral issues with it? I'd appreciate your thoughts and advice on this matter.

Hey guys, i do politics a-level and am currently failing. in my interim i managed to get a U. have you guys got any tips or anything?!!
I recommend gaining some foundational knowledge first: flashcards, mindmaps, videos.

If you do edexcel I highly recommend the politics shed and alan history nerd. both are amazing

generally, i would recommend (for UK politics) politics teaching on youtube and studyrocket which are great too.

hope this helps!

If not, PM me and we can chat about where the gaps in your knowledge are and we can try and fill them in together

has anyone got any edexcel politics essays they don't mind sharing
Hey. Does anyone have any sort of revision guide for UK government and USA politics as I have one for UK politics but nothing else and am really struggling to find one you can fill in as you go along

Does anyone have a template for the 30 markers for Edexcel politics.

Hiii so the structure we use which works really well is this:

Intro - define any key words in the question, have a clear judgement right from the start, and add in a few points you will be mentioning. Make sure your judgement is clear!!!

3 PEACE paragraphs for the main body (you could alternatively split into 6)

P - Point - State your point clearly
E - Evidence/example - Add in a relevant example/examples which link to your point and you can build on. Preferably a recent example - the more recent the better as it shows current political awareness and adds more legitimacy to the argument.
A - Analysis- Build upon your point so use phrases such as: the impact of this… this exemplifies… a weakness of this is…
(Add in an interim evaluation here to achieve he higher marks and show consistent a03/evaluation throught your arguments/essays)
C - Counter point/argument - add in a counter point, and repeat the same steps as above ^ so add in an example to support the counter point, analyse it, add in another evaluation sentence.
E - Evaluate - Add in a strong and final evaluation which links directly back to the question and shows your judgement in a clear way. You can say ‘this argument is stronger than the previous as…’ and link it back go the q.

Now repeat that 2x more so there should be 3 (or 6) main body paras.

Conclusion - Clear, add in key words if you can, restate some of your points and briefly state again why they are in favour of your judgement. MAKE SURE YOU JUDGEMENT IS CLEAR.

- from reading examiner’s reports, they like to see clear and consistent evaluation and the student clearly arguing their judgement and reasoning throughout the whole essay, so keep reminding them of your judgement and linking it back to the original question.

Reading other A* or A grade answers and annotating them on whats good/how theyve structured their answers is really helpful too!

Hope that helps

:hello: Welcome to the A-level Politics Study Group! :hello:

This is where you can chat with other students studying the same subjects as you and support each other as you head towards your exams :grouphugs:
You can post any useful tips and resources that you come across, offer support to others, share your successes, or just have moan when it gets tough!
Just remember, it’s against the site rules to ask for or offer any copyrighted papers, or to take conversations off-site to do these things. Posts that break these rules will be removed.
A few possible ice breaker questions are:
What exam board are you with?
What do you enjoy most about this subject/ course?
What area do you struggle with in this subject/ course?
Good luck with the next few months. Remember, ask for help, support where you can and together we can do this! :yeah:

I honestly think my favourite is actually US politics I find it so much easier than UK politics. For some reason I don’t know if that’s just me. I also really like the constitution because to me just seems very straightforward. I’m not the biggest fan of pressure groups and interest groups, because I think I would honestly really struggle with answering those questions, but definitely feminism and socialism. A good ones to do. I think conservatism confuses me because we talk about conservatives and liberals in US so I always get confused as to who is what if anyone is looking for anything I would definitely recommend politic shed. It is a game changer. There is a booklet for UK politics, component one I printed off which was actually really useful because it makes you go through everything

Yayy loads of people do multiculturalism ao i can barely find many resources for feminism online😭 i genuinely despiseeee feminism questions tho cuz each theme is so closely linked to each other and alot of repetition so its hard to distinguish specific things between the key thinkers (other than bell hooks ofc)

AQA have a much better assessment structure than Edexcel 😭 i wish we did AQA!!! You guys get 9 markers so marks are split between 5 questions so theres alot of places to pick up marks. With Edexcel we only get 3 questions on our papers!! 😭 1 30 mark essay q, 1 30 mark source q, and 1 24 mark ideology q. WHICH IS SO MUCH PAIN 😭 if I one question up, i mess up the grade pretty much 🥲🥲😭

I get what you mean, with regard to feminism, I do it too I’m going to attach a link below which is for an XL feminism. There is also QA as well for those who do AA on the website and this is literally how I took my notes for feminism because I couldn’t find a lot out there

For AKA feminism. I also have the link just in case you want that and I will attach that one below as well so you have that one. I honestly say this has made my life so much easier when I click on the feminism from AQ as you sent to the site, I sent someone else if you click on welcome to the politic shed and then click what you’re studying and your exam words it will come up with feminism and then for you as your course it gives you key concepts and terminology and then what to focus on and you’ve got the key feminists, which exactly the same as the key thinkers for Excel as well, so that should help

Thats so surprising! I find US content quite confusing and found UK content soooo much easier. We’ve still not covered all of US content yet 🥲 weve just started US democracy and participation so are on the last topic and will have little time or practice before exams 😭

Try your best to do some essay practice and if possible, get your teacher to mark them!
There are limited questions that can come up so if you cover each theme and each core idea, you should be prepared for the exam
