please help with this question (EPU and calibration)

Dried and stained bacteria are measured under a microscope at x 100 magnification usng an eyepiece reticle and a stage micrometer. The scalebar on the stage micrometer is 100 divisions and measures 1 mm.

The bacteria are on average 2 EPU at x 100 magnification. The calibration of the eyepiece reticle with the stage micrometer showed that 10 divisions on the stage micrometer = 85 EPU.

What is the length of the bacterium in µm?

ok well earlier i was like

1 division is 10um
cuz 10 divisions is 100um
magnification is 85, 85epu = 1mm
1000um for 85epu?
1epu = 11.76um
2eup is 23.52

but the options are:
0.001 mm
1.18 µm
2.35 µm
0.234 mm
26.6 µm

so i think i messed up a decimal somewhere, cus would it be 2.35

I think you have the right sort of idea. I started off with working out how many divisions the 2 EPU would be, and then calculating the length of that in mm. What do you get as the length if you do it that way?
