In French it really depends on the context when it come to temperature, I’ll give examples using ‘hot’ and you can use that to work it out!

Il est chaud = an item is physically warm (eg the spoon is warm) or a person is sexy

Il fait chaud = The weather is warm.

J’ai chaud = I feel warm
