Why is studying medicine in Spain so cheap?

I was looking at the uni of Barcelona and it said that it was just over 1000 euros per year for tuition. Is this right or am i missing something?

Also, if anyone studying there sees this, please can you pm me, i would like to ask you stuff about it :smile:
