Difference between History/Politics and History/Politics (SocSci)?

I am thinking of applying to study history and politics at the university of Glasgow, but they have a history/politics course and a history/politics (SocSci) course, does anyone know what the difference is and if one is better? (also is Glasgow a good uni for this course?)
