Bioveterinary Science Vs Animal Science

Hi,
I'm currently researching which university to choose for my 5th choice (my other choices are taken by vet med), however I can't tell the difference between bioveterinary science and animal science. Is it is just the same degree with a different name or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks!

Hi Charlotte, I’m a first year vet student at Bristol!
I’m not sure the exact difference but from speaking to a few of my coursemates and AGEP students I’ve found people who did animal science tended to have more issues with vet schools saying there wasn’t enough chemistry in their degree for it to be eligible for post grad vet courses whereas those with biovet degrees didn’t seem to have this issue… so many the biochemistry side is higher in biovet?
However regardless I would never recommend the post grad route if vet med is your aim and goal, it’s very expensive and you still have to do a degree you basically don’t want to do first! I ended up reapplying when I missed my offer even though I had a place for biovet at RVC x
