Birmingham v Nottingham v Lincoln for MPharm?

Not sure which to pick...

Which has best accommodation for someone on a budget?
Most supportive lecturers?
Most things to do except for drinking/ clubbing?
Most chilled?
Nottingham!
The university of Nottingham is one of the best for pharmacy! They have amazing support from personal tutors and the well-being team, and the lecturers have a true passion for what they teach. They honestly will do what they can to help you- you just need to ask! In terms of things to do, there’s so much that doesn’t involve drinking; the pharmsoc at UoN hosts regular events that don’t involve drinking, and they’re a really good way to meet your peers!

Each week is different and varied; no two weeks are the same. You’ll typically have a mixture of lectures, workshops, lab practicals and simulated patient practicals. The workload is as expected for any MPharm degree, but with good discipline, it is manageable, giving you time to spend on joining societies and practicing hobbies etc!

Teaching takes place between Monday-Friday, but you are expected to carry out self learning to supplement teaching and give you a wider scope of knowledge around the subject being taught. There’s not too much coursework, but coursework can include presentations and various forms of reports.

Most will move into a house with friends in areas such as Lenton, Beeston and Dunkirk; all of which are close to campus/within walking distance. Some decide to move into private accommodation, which is mainly located in town and hence take the tram to campus.

Depends on your personal time management skills and how you feel you are getting on with the course. Most people are able to manage the two together, so I’d say it’s definitely possible!
