Question about my calculator

Hi I recent brought a Casio Fx-991EX calculator. The only thing is after a few days it randomly turns off and bugs out for example right now it’s not working at all. It comes with a lithium battery but it’s solar powered so I thought it should still work. Will it only work if I put that battery in. It’s been in the sun for some time and still isn’t turning on.Sometimes when it doesn't work it tap it and it works. I would put the battery in and try but if it doesent work I’m scared a refund won’t be accepted on EBAY

Looking at https://support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/004/fx-570_991EX_EN.pdf , it seems the battery should be in the calculator. Of course, if the supplied battery doesn't make the calculator work, then the calculator is faulty and you can then claim a refund.
