Wi-fi/Wireless Internet Access?

I know a large majority of the halls have internet access, but I was wondering whether this is available through a wired connection or a wireless, all-round broadband network. Any ideas?

In halls I see wired connections more than wireless.

So we can't just bring our notebooks around and use them wherever we want, for example in a friend's room?

How about the university buildings, are those equipped with wireless access?

Uni buildings tend to have wireless, halls are all wired connections.
