ebay has them for good prices and high quality so they cant be cut easily
Yeah you could possibly get one at supermarket. Best bet, offline, is probably B&Q. I know you say Boots etc. but they will probably only retail crappy varieties. Get a Yale, avoid Master locks.

From a large supermarket, like a massive Asda or Tesco then yes. From Boots/Superdrug no way, unless you want a tiny travel padlock.

Also (sorry if this sounds dumb!) but most big padlocks are plain, right? I don't want one with a huge brand written across it!
They usually have the name written on somewhere, yes. Yale however generally have the name etched in on the background so it isn't really obvious. Depends on the lock generally.
PS I don't work for Yale btw! They just make decent products

you can also try places like debenhams travel section for smaller oens or combination ones
Wilkinsons, Poundland, B&Q, Homebase, larger supermarkets, Timpsons, QD

Plenty of places.

You'll probably be able to find them in big supermarkets or department stores. I normally buy mine from Robert Dyas.
