Refraction errors

I did an experiment in which an light ray was passed through a perplex block. We had to measure the perpendicular distance 'd' from the emergent ray and the incident ray. The angle of incidence was varied and for each angle the value of d was measured.
questions
Explain why the type of error in the measurement of d is a random error.(1 mark)

TBH I don't understand the question as presented here - in principle the errors could be random or systematic. is there a graph or some other information you haven't shown us?
