There are opportunities but I am too new to have had the chance yet :mmm: and normal people can go as well if they're running testing or whatever and your parents let you :borat:

That's what I'm saying - why no younger employees to reflect the actual user base? You'll find very few students that are of similar age to the TSR employees.
Please no "we don't hire under 18" because that's perfectly legal in this country provided it isn't full time.

We have lots of student volunteers :h:
All those TSR bears is where Puddles stashes her meth and coke, transporting it round the world. Pretty ingenuous tbh

My point exactly - volunteers.
What's the issue with hiring people age 16-18 as part time paid employees? What makes you (no offence intended) any more entitled to pay than a volunteer?

With respect, the Community Team do a lot more than moderation and each have their own specialisms, they're busy people and they work hard. The volunteers (aka, us) help to make content, chat with you guys and make sure that TSR is safe when things go awry. It's not about some sort of feudal system, we all muck in. So the 'entitlement' comment is moot, we do it because we enjoy TSR and want to contribute meaningfully, paid or not. :sigh:

I volunteer for TSR. Hello! I'm 17. :h:

So why aren't 16-18 year olds allowed to work for TSR, paid?

There are numerous legal complications (including insurance, etc.) and at the end of the day it's up to TSRG who they employ. This is a non-issue. We're happy volunteering and the CT are happy doing their jobs to make a living. Let's stay on topic and leave it there, shall we? :h:

What kind of work would they be able to do? it's not exactly a menial job.

They can do whatever the 23+ year old paid employees do... unless you're suggesting that somehow they are less capable than someone a few years older than them?
Moderation, site building, competitions, articles, etc etc
That's where all the advertising money goes...

This is a small proportion of what is done in the office, and much of this is done by volunteer mods, who can be 16 - 18.

You can look on http://tsrmatters.com/find-out-about-us/meet-the-team/ to see what we all do, but the largest teams here are the production team (developers, QA, BA, BI, designers), sales team, marketing team, finance etc - jobs which we usually require experience or qualifications to be able to do

Yeah but you have no real power and influence over the site, other then dealing with rule breaking content. (As far as I'm aware). That's what the above poster is trying to say.
