Well, it's a well known fact that the best way to win an election is to insult the electorate instead of actually getting policy out there, and accusing the other side of being funded by Russia with no evidence, that worked so well in the EU referendum...

Im not sure you can accuse Clinton of not putting policy out there. One of her main weaknesses is she comes across as too much of a policy wonk. Especially by the standards of this election. Anyway you only have to look at some of the endorsements Trump has picked up, as well as some of the views that show up in polls of his supporters to see Clinton is not far wrong.

Funding is perhaps going too far but Trump has certainly benefitted from hacks connected to Russia, something he has hoped will continue.

Poor Hilldawg shoulda taken a page from Obama's book:

Kidding, but while it's true that Trump hasn't actually said anything racist (and the only people who think he did are headline-swallowing zombies who are too lazy/stupid/arrogant to look past headlines and fact check things), there's no doubt that a lot of Trump's supporters do genuinely think that way as outlined by her statement.

Having said that, I can fully understand people voting for Hillary on the basis that she's the preferable option of a gruesome twosome - ie she's not Trump. But how much of an idiot do you have to be genuinely like and actively support her? She's completely vile.

It's true though that you hear a lot of stories about actual funding, especially when you follow some allegedly reputable news sources which sometimes manage to make the Guardian look well informed.

The thing on the policy front is, not sitting down and listening to every word that comes out of her mouth I never seem to hear anything beyond the standard Democratic spiel. I hear nothing from the pro Clinton press praising it for being all socialist, condemning it from the "alt right" for being too liberal, or condemning it from the loony left for being too Republican, and it's not even like it because i have no exposure to such sources.

Perhaps on the "it's somewhat true" front one of the most interesting thing is that on race relations and attitudes towards blacks you can barely split white Republicans and white democrats with a slight worsening about 8 years ago with republicans that anybody with a brain should be able to tell is to do with politics and not blacks as a whole.
