Although 'technically' or whatever you're not meant to be able to improve your score, even familiarising yourself with the test is a help.
For example, in the AR you'll begin to recognise what sort of things to look out for when spotting the pattern eg angle, number of sides etc.
And also, if you are struggling on a question, DON'T BE STUBBORN. Take a guess, flag it for review so you can go back to it if you have time, and move on.
Oh, and my 'technique' for VR was skim read the whole passage, read the question, reread the part of the passage the question was about if I needed to and answer the question.
