Self Perception Theory vs. Cognitive Dissonance Theory

I'm struggling with these, I can't really see what the difference is.

Obviously cognitive dissonance is where you do something which doesn't agree with your attitudes and then you change your attitudes to sort of agree with what you've done. But then if the self perception theory is that you decide your attitudes by observing your own behaviour aren't they just the same thing?

Can anyone give me something to help me differentiate between the 2?
